Sciety product news 03/10/2024
The latest platform news from sciety.org, the home of community preprint evaluation.
🚀 What's new?
COAR notify
Last week we implemented an inbox to receive COAR notify notifications. The Sciety application can now be notified of peer evaluation activities from other providers such as requests for peer review and publication of reviews. This may present further opportunities to make transparent the process of peer evaluation; for example we can represent when a peer evaluation community selects preprints that they want to highlight or review.
Stay up to date on Bluesky
We're experimenting with publishing all of the latest preprints that have been evaluated by our community partners on Bluesky. You can follow the user or follow the Preprint review feed published by the @scietyhq.bsky.social account which includes anything with the keywords "#ReviewedPreprint, #EvaluatedPreprint, preprint review, sciety". If this proves popular, we could look at evaluated preprints by subject category, which you can already find on Sciety.
🔠What's next?
Subject categories
We're improving the use of the subject categories. Initially, we listed the latest 10 evaluated preprints in the category and we are now including pagination to let people browse further. We've also heard that it would be useful to include categories outside of biomed and improve the ordering of the category lists
💬 Your voice matters
We want to make community preprint evaluation a go to signal for knowing which papers to read and we can't do this without your input. Book a 1:1 call with Sciety's Product Manager, Mark Williams to learn more about our latest changes and help us plan the future of equitable, open research outputs.
🔗 Stay connected
We’ll be back shortly with everything that's happening on Sciety.
Until then, you can find us on Bluesky, Twitter, Mastodon, Facebook, LinkedIn and Youtube.
