Sciety Product News 05/02/2024
The latest in preprint innovations from sciety.org, the home of public preprint evaluation.
What's new?
- ๐ We've added an accessibility improvement to help screenreaders differentiate between the links to versions of a paper on bioRxiv or medRxiv.
- ๐ We found that for some cases such as journal publications, we do not always have full date information from CrossRef, so we have improved the preprint activity feed to make sure the ordering of the events is unambiguous even where dates are clashing.
- ๐ ย Article cards (eg. those in search results and lists) reflect the whole publishing history including if the article has been published in a journal.
What's next?
- ๐ย Bugs. Representing all versions/expressions of a paper has resulted in usability and feasibility concerns that need to be mitigated.
- ๐ต๏ธ ย Testing feasibility of our assumption that lists can be associated with a groups and users as part of letting group representatives edit group lists
- ๐ค Meeting with our Sciety groups to talk about work in progress and the barriers that exist for people reviewing preprints and people reading preprint evaluations
