Peer Review Week 2021

This year's Peer Review Week starts today. And we are taking part in three events to discuss all things peer review with a focus on the potential for open review. Our contribution will focus on bringing in the perspective of how extensive this can be, what is achievable and the possibility to harness community effort through new technology.

Below are the events that we will be taking part in. At these events, you will have the chance to ask questions of us as well as the other participants.

Thursday 23 September - 09:00 hours (GMT)

The future of preprint peer review (Organised by EuropePMC)

This webinar will look at the current state of preprint peer review and its future. Our Head of Technology, Paul Shannon will represent Sciety. Paul will highlight some of the foundation work we have done and the direction of travel for Sciety. He will focus on the potential for crowd-sourced evaluation and curation to organise the preprint literature and shine a light on underrepresented work. He’ll talk about how Sciety brings peer review, highlights, automated screening and recommendation of preprints together from 16 diverse groups of scientists while allowing individuals to curate and share lists of preprints to help others navigate the preprint landscape.
