Webinar Report: An introduction to Sciety for early-career researchers

Last week, we held a demo event targeted at early-career researchers on the advantages of using Sciety to keep up with the increasing research output read. You can now discover preprint activities using Sciety – a community-organised and peer-led application that helps you focus on the papers that are worth your time.

Sciety is an agnostic application for the community-organisation and peer-led curation of preprints. We have designed it in the open, solely based on feedback from researchers, iterating it daily in an incremental way to adapt to their needs. This approach helps us focus on addressing the changing needs of the research community when it comes to accessing research outputs.

During this webinar, speakers demonstrated some of Sciety's essential features, including aggregation of open reviews, curation of preprints, and much more.

The panel included:

  • Prachee Avasthi, Associate Professor of Cell Biology, Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth
  • Lesley Anson, Director, Biophysics Colab
  • Godwyns Onwuchekwa, eLife's Head of Communities and formerly Sciety's Community and Outreach Manager

We welcome your comments, questions and feedback.
