Sciety Product news 18/2023

The latest in preprint innovations from sciety.org, the home of public preprint evaluation.

🚀 What's new?

  • ⭐New feature: Related Articles AI⭐

Sciety's first AI based feature helps you keep up to date by recommending preprints that relate to each other . You can find the related articles at the bottom of an article page. We'd love people to explore these and  to hear how useful they are.

  • Enabling author responses. Working together with Arcadia Science and Hypothes.is we now represent more of the conversation around preprints on Sciety. Through our process of continually releasing working software, we can already see how the team at Arcadia Science are evolving their review process to accomodate author responses and also clarifying the status and author of a review comment.
  • We've also updated the article page design to make it more clear which lists article has been curated in.

Here are some articles that nicely exhibit this:

🧪 Sciety Labs

Over on our  Sciety Labs, we're trying out  alternatives to searching for the latest preprints using Semantic Scholar AI to return results based on relevancy. You can try AI supported search right now alongside our traditional EuropePMC search.

We'd  also encourage people to try out RSS feeds which can be useful for getting updates on new preprints and curation activity, helping people keep up to date with the research.

Sciety Labs is an experimental site that the team use to test out functionality by incorporating data points and external APIs. It is not intended for general use and may be updated frequently. If you are interested in helping us try out the latest technology please schedule a call with the team.

🔭 What's next?

  • Our focus is now on clarifying the terminology around preprint evaluation and curation and making Sciety a home for future curating groups. You will see the home page evolving over the next couple of weeks as we clarify what Sciety can offer readers of preprints and groups of reviewers.
